Quote and Cite a Poem inside an Essay Using MLA Format

College-degree essays around literature usually follow Modern Vocabulary Association, or MLA, type. MLA has extremely exact guidelines for quoting also citing lines away from poems. Citing lines of poetry is always the same, but formatting quotations depends on how many lines you quote.
